We are currently looking for a System Administrator to install, configure, and maintain specialized software systems and applications that they satisfy organizational and cyber security requirements for timely, effective, and efficient collection, processing, and storing of data.
The incumbent will provide system and database administration support for servers hosting applications and software systems. They will coordinate system, cyber security, and database administration efforts for specialized software systems in coordination with the designated Information System Security Manager (ISSM). They will maintain systems/applications on various types of computers, operating in a stand-alone and/or networked connected configuration. They will sustain current production software.
The candidate will troubleshoot and resolve all system and connectivity issues. They will monitor system performance Install and upgrade software, including third-party software and perform preventive and corrective maintenance and maintain DoD Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts and Bulletins (IAVA, IAVB) compliance by managing the installation of new software releases, system upgrades and installation of patches to resolve software related issues with the IT systems.
They will perform system backup, recovery and track monthly metrics (i.e. percentage of system up time, amount of data archived via back-up routines, available data storage capacity, and storage area network utilization and available capacity). They will identify areas of non-compliance by using Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) by utilizing the STIG Viewer tool.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in related field or 2 years of additional relevant experience can be substituted for each year of non-degree. Candidates must be compliant with DoD Directive 8140.01 within six months of hire.
EXPERIENCE: Candidates should possess at least 5-12 years of experience in the System Administrator field or in a related area. Candidates should also have Windows OS system administration experience. Candidates should also be familiar with cybersecurity hardening techniques and tools such as Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scans.
