Photography Archivist Intern Kimberly Metz Studio - Sherman Oaks, CA 91423 Internship ** Internship for class credit or experience only ** ** Adobe Photoshop and retouching skills are a plus** INTERVIEWING FOR END OF 2018/ ALL OF 2019 INTERNS About Kimberly Metz: Accomplished Photographer/ Director whose work has been in every major magazine from Vogue to Wallpaper, shot and directed for major clients not just self tests but an actual veteran who has experience. Philosophy : The amount of patience and time it takes to teach someone with very little experience would never equate to an experienced professional (over 2+years) because the skills and ability is nowhere near that of a seasoned professional; this is why we teach what you dont know and that takes time. Most other internships do not take that one on one time. We dont take any intern to replace an employee because they just dont posses the skills period! Job Summary : The Photo Archivist is responsible for organizing, preservation and editing of the photographic content/archives and video. Responsibilities : Archiving of various work which would include but is not limited to: * Managing photographs, videos, tearsheets, CD's, and archiving * Organizing external drives and behind the scenes shoots (BTS) * Choose imagery that can be posted for social media and website * Photoshop * Research Imagery Where are our interns now? Former interns have gone on to work for (with our help after excelling in the internship) * SONY Playstation * Wet n Wild Cosmetics * Reformation * Forever 21 * Smashbox Studios * Smashbox Makeup * Hatch Beauty * Mattel * Wet Seal * Grayse LLC * Percival & Associates, etc. Schedule: * 1-2 days per week commitment for 3-5 months for 6+ hours per day * Most other internships are 8-10 hours per day * Flexible - we work with your schedule Requirements: * Self-Starter - meaning you can do tasks on your own without direction * Multi-tasking - meaning working on 2 computers at once etc * Ability to work in a team and delegate tasks * Comfortable and professional phone demeanor * Keen eye for detail * Sense of humor/ friendly (not uptight) * Flexible but yet efficient/ pliable (meaning if we tell you to work do so with a smile on your face) * Knowledge of the MAC/Photoshop/Word/Internet savvy platformNatural problem solving ability (without asking questions-google) * Reliable with own form of transportation * Natural Problem Solving Ability (without direction) Tasks you will learn include but are not limited to: * Desk and Studio work (computer, painting studio cove, etc).
