    Our law firm has a full-time associate attorney position available now and we’re looking for the right professional to join our team. You will have the opportunity to learn from senior associates and litigation associates on legal issues and will provide legal counsel to existing clients. You’ll also be responsible for performing legal research, drafting documents, and keeping client files up to date. Responsibilities: • Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients • Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior associate attorneys • Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings • Keep files organized to make sure the most recent updates are accessible to other attorneys, paralegals, and staff • Represent clients in court hearings Qualifications: • Has a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school • Active membership with the American Bar Association (ABA) • Applicants must have successfully passed the state bar exam • Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients • Prepared to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base To be successful in this role you will need: • Admission to the Texas Bar • 3+ years as a practicing attorney • Must have experience handling contested family law cases (non-negotiable) • Family law experience must meet or exceed the following: (1) 50+ cases handling property divisions, (2) 50+ cases handling conservatorship issues, (3) 25+ contested family law hearings (temporary orders hearings, enforcement hearings, modification hearings, and motions) (4) 25+ mediations, and (4) final trial experience • Ability to track billable hours • Advanced knowledge of computer technology and the Internet (MS Word and Excel) and the ability to learn new programs easily • Multi-tasking skills and the ability to work well under pressure • Attention to detail and accuracy • Reliability and dependability • Problem analysis and problem-solving • For working from home: fast internet connection (20MB+) and a quiet work environment for receiving and making professional calls Compensation: $80,000 - $120,000 yearly
