GROWING ECOMMERCE WHOLESALER AND DISTRIBUTOR HAS IMMEDIATE POSITION FOR AN EXPERIENCED TECHNICAL WRITER TO JOIN THEIR TEAM IN CITY OF INDUSTRY! IN THIS IMPORTANT ROLE, YOU WILL Write instruction and assembly manuals, troubleshoot content, and create easy to understand descriptions for customers and consumers.   

OVERVIEW:

•  Coordinate, write and/or edit content ALL PRODUCT ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTION MANUALS to meet all deadlines required.

•  Determine the needs of users for assembly and instruction manuals.

•  Edit material prepared by other writers or staff as it relates to product assembly and troubleshooting.

•  RESPONSIBLE FOR WORKING WITH TEAMS (PD, PO, BUYERS, QC ETC.) TO OBTAIN ACCURATE DIAGRAMS, PHOTOS AND CONTENT FOR ASSEMBLY AND INSTRUCTION MANUALS TO FORMATTING, TO WRITING, AND PUBLISHING TO APPROPRIATE TEAMS.

•  Make manual templates in InDesign to improve efficiency and accuracy.

•  Creating and maintaining tracking project logs.

•  Write  templates for key content that is repeated through manuals – example ‘Warranty’ template, Contact template, Caution template, and for different product categories as necessary to ensure information is easily accessible and pulled for updates.

•  Maintain all proper filing of instruction, troubleshooting and  content.

•  Work with photographers and videographers on creating right instruction/troubleshooting photos and videos.

•  Collect feedback, research competition and what others are doing to continuously improve content.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

•  3+ years of experience as Technical Content Writing  INCLUDING INSTRUCTION AND ASSEMBLY MANUALS AND TROUBLESHOOTING.

•  Advanced knowledge of Excel, HTML, InDesign, Word, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, and other project management, editing software

•  BS degree in Journalism, English, Marketing, Communication or relevant field- Engineering is a plus.
