Responsibilities: • Kennel techs spend most of their day on a play floor with a large group of off-leash dogs, of any size • You will practice manners, engage dogs in enrichment activities, and generally manage, feed, and clean up after those dogs for the day • Kennel techs will train to feed and medicate dogs who stay overnight for boarding • Kennel techs will help bathe dogs before they go home • Kennel techs will receive an in-depth education on dog body language and non-verbal, social communication in order to understand their groups better and stop conflict before it escalates • Kennel techs will use tools and techniques used by our staff for decades to successfully eliminate jumping, door dashing, and avoidance behaviors from dogs • Kennel techs must be able to lift, pull, push and do hard work in between managing the dogs in groups. It keeps off the summer pounds Qualifications: • Have an appreciation for maintaining a secure, entertaining and hygienic atmosphere for dogs • Be enthusiastic about working in a place where clients and colleagues develop friendly bonds • Not hesitant to connect with both animals and humans • Not have any restrictions on physical strength or ability • Possess a driver's license and have personal access to a vehicle • Be prepared and able to work most weekends and holidays throughout the year • Have the physical and emotional capabilities to thrive in an active and noisy environment • Grasp that a day in this job involves more than merely interacting with dogs Compensation: $14.50 - $15 hourly
