    WHAT YOU’LL DO WITH US:

    The Junior Systems and Security Analyst will work closely with our IT Security Program Manager and VP of Operations to ensure the maintenance and security of our infrastructure.

     

    • Configure, install, operate, and maintain all hosted systems for clients, and for internal systems, including the maintenance of the critical business infrastructure at KinderSystems.
    • Assists the VP of Operations and the Manager of IT in system architecture or design.
    • Work with Development and QA Departments to create, support, and maintain the Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipeline and associated components such as, but not limited to, Azure DevOps GIT repositories, and Octopus Deploy.
    • Monitor the performance of all hardware and software systems and troubleshoot any issues that might arise during daily operations.
    • Assist with IT tasks, tickets, troubleshooting, and documentation.
    • Maintain product installations. This includes publishing applications (.NET, .NET Core, and other technologies) and related web services, upgrading such applications, and coordinating with the various associated technical teams.
    • Work with KinderSystems’ support group in the process of troubleshooting client installations, whether the root cause is internal or external to KinderSystems.
    • Work with the VP of Operations to plan, execute, and support all lifts and shifts, new clients onboarding, or the maintenance of existing environments.
    • Coordinate and maintain all company server backups and associated documentation. Participate and record all quarterly backup testing drill outcomes.
    • Work with and provide direction to KinderSystems’ help desk supervisor or technicians to triage and resolve issues outside of the help desk’s domain of knowledge.
    • Assist the IT Manager with ensuring best practices are documented, applied, and maintained through various environments with a particular focus on security compliance.
    • Ensure infrastructure, applications, and data security/privacy controls are maintained in compliance with corporate and regulatory policies.
    • Support the IT Security Manager in development and maintenance of the IT Security Assurance program.
    • Assist with actively monitoring internal and external systems infrastructure and applications for security threats and incidents (incident and problem management).
    • Participate in out of hours support coverage as needed.
    • Research the latest in information technology security trends to keep up to date with the subject and use the latest technology to protect information. Make recommendations as identified.
    • Organized, detail-oriented team player with the ability to prioritize daily work and support multiple initiatives simultaneously.
    • Strong communication and customer focus are required.
    • Advanced knowledge of security architecture, infrastructure, network, and systems design.
    • Knowledge of common IT and security concepts including firewall management, server management, access control, web application security, cloud security and authentication.
    • Passionate about IT, technology, and following the latest industry trends.
    • Experience in policy exceptions, including working directly with the teams to document exceptions, identify compensating controls and remediation action plans.
    • Connects easily with clients and colleagues to communicate effectively across business and technical boundaries.
    • Works independently without detailed guidance.
    • Proficient in writing executive-level reports and technical documentation.
    • Travel as required.
    • 1-3 years of experience in security & internal auditing of systems and processes
    • Understanding of Risk Management Framework, NIST-SP-800-53, and other best practices.
    • AWS or Azure certifications in the following areas: Systems Operations, Security, Solutions Architect
    • 2+ years with Linux based distributions.

     

    WHO YOU ARE:

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

    • 1-3 years of experience in security & internal auditing of systems and processes
    • Understanding of Risk Management Framework, NIST-SP-800-53, and other best practices.
    • AWS or Azure certifications in the following areas: Systems Operations, Security, Solutions Architect
    • 2+ years with Linux based distributions.

    WHAT WE OFFER

    • The ability to work from anywhere in the United States, this position is primarily remote, with approximately 10% travel
    • Salary $60,000-$70,000 annually
