Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

· Interviews patients for meal preferences

· Assembles patient food trays ensuring neatness and accuracy

· Delivers and collects patient food trays

· Demonstrates knowledge and use of established HACCP guidelines

· Monitors and logs food temperatures

· Has knowledge of proper food temperatures and the corrective actions to take if parameters are not met

· Uses proper food handling methods to prevent cross contamination

· Has knowledge of proper food temperatures from receiving to reheating temperatures, and holding temperatures

· Monitors and logs refrigerator and freezer temperatures

· Monitors and logs dish machine temperatures

· Washes dishes using dish machine or three sink method

· Sweeps and mops dietary department floors

· Empties, disposes of and cleans all paper waste, recyclables and garbage containers within department

· Performs scheduled cleaning and sanitation

· Follows safety, sanitation and hygiene practices as required by hospital

· Stocks employee lounge, lobby and PACU with food and paper supplies

· Receives and signs for dietary delivery’s

· Puts stock away by using the FIFO method

· Knowledge of online food and supply purchasing system

• Work as PCA in the In-patient unit when not doing dietary work

· Performs other related duties at the discretion of the Dietary Manager
