    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Occupational Therapy Assistant, Per Diem - Occupational Therapy Hospital.

    In this role, the successful candidate works as part of a team to provide occupational therapy services under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist. Provides appropriate therapy to help patients improve their ability to perform activities of daily living and to achieve optimal level of self-care and productivity.

    Job Responsibilities:

    * Performs other duties as assigned.
    * Implements appropriate interventions/treatment as indicated by the patient's functional status, diagnosis and age in conjunction with the supervising therapist's established plan of care.
    * Maintains accurate, complete, and timely documentation reflecting the interventions and education provided, interdisciplinary communication, and plan of care.
    * Interacts and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes and health care goals. Provides clinical supervision to Rehabilitation Aides.
    * Monitors patient response to treatment and modifies the plan of care under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
    * Provides patient, family, and clinician education regarding the patient's functional status and plan of care.
    

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify, you must have a Associate's Degree Occupational Therapy Assistant (from an Accreditation Council of Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) approved OTA program), required. Current and valid NYS Occupational Therapy Assistant license and registration, required Current and valid BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association, required. Excellent communication (both oral and written) skills, required. Basic computer skill, required..

    Preferred Qualifications:

    1-2 years Hospital (Inpatient) or Orthopedic (Outpatient) Rehabilitation setting, preferred.

    Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $38.00 - $38.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • At least 18 years of age
    • Physical ability to perform personal care tasks
    • Ability to read, write, understand, carry out directions, keep simple medical records and function with minimal supervision
    • Must have reliable transportation
    • Must not have a criminal conviction which bars employment
    • Must have no adverse record or be listed in the Nurse Aide Registry
