Job Description:

Gastro One is seeking a PRN Medical Records Specialist to join our dynamic team. This position will require flexibility to assist at one of our three locations, including two in Germantown and one in Southaven, MS, as needed. The PRN Medical Records Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate and organized medical records for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in organizing and maintaining electronic and paper medical records
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of all medical records entries
• Follow established procedures for record keeping, retrieval, and storage
• Process requests for medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff on record-related tasks
• Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information at all times
• Provide support for billing and coding teams as needed
• Participate in training programs and stay updated on industry regulations

Required Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred
• Previous experience in medical records management or a related role is REQUIRED
• Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and electronic health record systems
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical record documentation standards
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work at multiple locations as needed
• Must have reliable transportation
