    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Birth Registrar - Mother Baby Day Shift.

    In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for the coordination of the prenatal records from the responsible or private physician office to the Labor and Delivery Suite. Collects and aggregates data for the division of Women & Children's Services.

    Job Responsibilities:

    * Responsible for reviewing all Prenatal Records for HIV counseling, testing, and hepatitis results. Aggregates HIV waived patient's data including monthly reports of number of waived patients.
    * Complies aggregate data on newborn hearing screening including, quarterly reports of number of inpatient screens conducted, number of missed inpatient screens, number of referrals for outpatient screens, number of outpatient screen conducted, number of results returned to the facility by other providers conducting outpatient screens and number of infants referred to Early Intervention Program as at risk follow-up.
    * Demonstrates the ability to communicate with private attending and Family Health Center to obtain the Prenatal Records according to EDD list.
    * Maintain accurate records on HIV waived.
    * Performs other duties as aligned with the mission and values of the organization.
    * Responsible for checking Hearing Screenings that are completed on newborns before discharge.
    * Maintains accurate records on the Newborn Hearing Screening Program and Prenatal Records.
    * Responsible for reporting to the NYC Department of Health all aggregate data.
    * Assists in maintaining a hospitable, courteous environment in the office, in communicating with physicians, patients, staff and other members of the health care team.
    * Revise and complete Maternal Pediatric HIV test history and Assessment Form.
    * Responsible for reviewing Newborn Screening information and entering HIV results
    

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent Required. A minimum of 1 years relevant experience required. Strong customer service, communication and organizational skills. Strong data entry skills. Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.

    Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $33,778.63 - $43,573.39 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Master’s Degree from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education
    • Minimum of two year social work experience in a healthcare setting or social services agency
    • Current Social Worker license
    • Hospice experience a plus
    • Knowledge of and ability to obtain community resources (information and referral, state/federal financial programs and eligibility requirements, etc.).
    • Understand Hospice philosophy, principles of death/dying
    • Strong organizational and communication skills
