    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Telephone Operator overnights when needed- Brooklyn.

    In this role, the successful candidate Provide service for telephone communications, and code/trauma conditions.

    Job Responsibilities:

    * Contacts all hospital personnel in emergency situations
    * Operates communications system Telephone Switchboard
    * Follows specific procedures for Code Trauma Condition
    * Answers emergency elevator calls
    * Follows fire alarm emergency procedures
    * Announces over head emergency calls
    * Pages trauma groups
    * Interacts appropriately with different levels of management
    * Maintains telephone database
    * Maintains code book
    

    Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
    Answer all telephone calls presented to the NYU Brooklyn Hospital Main list number, 3-3911 and Patient information. Following quick triage, forward to the intended party or activate emergency protocols.
    Operates 7/24/365 communications system Telephone Console
    Participates in the department Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Exercises
    Backup Langone Orthopedic Hospital Main Console when required to fill necessary shift gaps.
    Maintain ACE (Awesome Customer Service) levels by taking required training and certification classes as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    To qualify you must have a High School Diploma Required
    2+ years relevant experience
    Strong customer service and communication skills.
    Previous switchboard experience, preferable in a hospital setting.

    Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $43,901.48 - $49,127.38 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

  • Qualifications
    • Nursing degree or equivalent with Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or Master of Science in Social Work preferred.
    • Will consider other clinical or non-clinical personnel with extensive hospice benefit and eligibility knowledge.
    • Nurse Practitioner or Registered Nurse in applicable state preferred.
    • Valid driver’s license. Must have reliable transportation and insurance.
    • A minimum of three years clinical home care and/or hospice experience with at least one year in a clinical management role or experience in acute care case management/discharge planning/Clinical Director of Care Transitions role preferred.
    • Excellent organizational skills and human relations skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills required
    • Microsoft Office proficiency required.

    • Excellent knowledge of state and federal home health/hospice agency benefit, eligibility, regulations/Conditions of Participation and Compliance standards and requirements.
    • Must read, write and speak fluent English.
