  • Responsibilities

    The primary job functions of this position will be a Slitter Operator with the ability to move between multiple light bindery equipment areas. 

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Operate offline and auxiliary binding/finishing/packaging equipment. 
    • Set up and adjusts machine and equipment for production runs. 
    • Clean, lubricate and maintain machine to ensure its optimum operation. 
    • May troubleshoot issues and submit requests for maintenance as needed. 
    • May coordinate the assignment of crewmembers and may provide training for new team members.
    • Requires knowledge of standard set ups, adjustments and operating characteristics of the equipment and skill to perform standard adjustments and operate the equipment. 
    • Ability to set up, operate, and perform basic adjustments to the equipment according to the individual job requirements, operating characteristics, and capabilities of the equipment. 
    • Typically, the adjustments performed at this level are routine and the need for such adjustments are readily apparent
    • Maintains a clean, neat and orderly work area.
    • Plans and schedules work activities to complete assignments in order of priority making the most efficient use of time.

    Required Skills

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    • High School Education, GED or equivalent.
    • Some knowledge of finishing techniques used in printing to produce finished printed materials preferred.
    • Basic computer skills; knowledge of keyboard functions.
    • Basic skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
    • Ability to read, write and speak in the English language to the extent necessary to effectively communicate or interpret instruction.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out basic written or oral instructions. 
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
    • Collator/stitcher, slitter, perfect binder, tape, boxing and hand coil work a plus

    Required Experience

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • Two plus years experience in a print bindery environment preferred.
  • Qualifications
