The primary job functions of this position will be a Slitter Operator with the ability to move between multiple light bindery equipment areas.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Operate offline and auxiliary binding/finishing/packaging equipment.
- Set up and adjusts machine and equipment for production runs.
- Clean, lubricate and maintain machine to ensure its optimum operation.
- May troubleshoot issues and submit requests for maintenance as needed.
- May coordinate the assignment of crewmembers and may provide training for new team members.
- Requires knowledge of standard set ups, adjustments and operating characteristics of the equipment and skill to perform standard adjustments and operate the equipment.
- Ability to set up, operate, and perform basic adjustments to the equipment according to the individual job requirements, operating characteristics, and capabilities of the equipment.
- Typically, the adjustments performed at this level are routine and the need for such adjustments are readily apparent
- Maintains a clean, neat and orderly work area.
- Plans and schedules work activities to complete assignments in order of priority making the most efficient use of time.

Required Skills
REQUIRED SKILLS
- High School Education, GED or equivalent.
- Some knowledge of finishing techniques used in printing to produce finished printed materials preferred.
- Basic computer skills; knowledge of keyboard functions.
- Basic skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to read, write and speak in the English language to the extent necessary to effectively communicate or interpret instruction.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out basic written or oral instructions.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
- Collator/stitcher, slitter, perfect binder, tape, boxing and hand coil work a plus
Required Experience
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Two plus years experience in a print bindery environment preferred.
