    POSITION SUMMARY:

    A diesel mechanic is responsible for inspecting, servicing, and maintaining diesel locomotive mechanical systems in accordance with company and federal regulations; diagnosing diesel engine malfunctions and effecting repairs using hand tools, overhead cranes and machine tools; operating forklifts, cranes, and tractors; using torches and welders.

    WORKING CONDITIONS: 

    Diesel Mechanics ordinarily work in mechanical shop environments, but sometimes also on line-of-road. A diesel mechanic must therefore be prepared to work in all types of weather conditions, for extended periods of time. While a diesel mechanic position entails primarily shift work, including weekends, from time-to-time overtime may be required.

    REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • High School diploma or GED equivalent
    • Valid driver's license
    • Journeyman license OR three (3) years mechanical experience

    UNION MEMBERSHIP: This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement and the successful applicant may be required to join the union. Monthly union dues may be required and will be deducted from the employee's paycheck.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Responsible for the development and attainment of production, service and sales and service quality goals at assigned MSC through development of comprehensive and measurable sales and service activities.
    2. Responsible for meeting all compliance and audit requirements.
    3. Acts as the relationship manager for existing members provide continuing financial advice as appropriate, determine member’s loan and deposits needs and deepen existing member relationships.
    4. Provide coaching to the Member Service Center employees to ensure consistency of sales and service standards. Utilizes coaching and counseling to build and to increase sales and service and sales performance of staff members.
    5. Responsible for guiding and leading the assigned service and sales activities.
    6. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of the Members Services Centers through analysis of sales and service reports.
    7. Provides direction and support to MSC staff members to ensure proper safeguarding of assets and conformity to Credit Union policies and procedures. Minimizes Credit Union exposure to losses through appropriate risk assessment and management.
    8. Operates the MSC as a true “profit” center with direct control of expense and revenue generation.
    9. Communicates MSC goals and service and sales expectations to all staff members.
    10. Provides high level support to the Regional Manager in creating a strong sales and service culture in assigned MSC.
    11. Recruits and develops top talent at all levels of the Member Service Center.
    12. Works in conjunction with the Vice President of Business and Community Development for Select Employee Groups (SEG) development and on local community projects and events. Makes assigned weekly outside business development calls.
    13. Develops brand and image campaigns for local market in conjunction with the Marketing Department.
    14. Sponsors local community events on behalf of Kinecta Federal Credit Union.
    15. Develops and maintains working relationship with local Realtors and Home Owners Associations.
    16. Establishes and maintains a working relationship with the Business Services and Trust Services Departments to identify leads for their business.
    17. Coordinates quarterly educational seminars on a rotating basis for Business Services, Trust Services, Kinecta Financial and Insurance Services and Mortgage Lending.
    18. Active member of the local Chamber of Commerce
    19. Becomes the subject matter expert with regards to the local community.  Gather market and other intelligence data regarding the local community that will enable you to provide exceptional relationship management with existing and new members.
