KB Academy is a private Christian hybrid school serving students from Kindergarten through High School. We link arms with parents to partner in educating students from a Christian worldview. Our academic program is built on three essential values: Relentless Optimism, Joyful Collaboration, and Creative Focus. These values permeate every area of our school and are modeled by administration, teachers and students!
Weekly Overview: Students attend seated classes with teachers on Mondays and Wednesdays. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, students round out their week by completing teacher-designed assignments with the support of a parent. On Fridays, students are in class for a half day, where teachers are present on a rotation. Additionally, teachers are required to be available remotely on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a two-hour block in order to respond to questions/provide clarification on assignments. Class sizes are held to sixteen students at a time to encourage relationship building and facilitate an optimal learning environment.
Teachers work under a ten-month contract. Also on staff we have an Executive Director, Executive Director of Education, Director of Development, Principal, Counselor, and Secretary/Nurse. Teachers have a paid week off each quarter and an extra long Christmas vacation! We deeply believe in providing an environment that is professionally, personally and spiritually nurturing.
To be successful at KB Academy, teachers must possess a passion for reaching students, display flexibility, respect for deadlines, and have s trong classroom management and organizational skills. KB teachers function as a team, problem-solving together and receiving input from fellow staff and teachers with humility. We believe that we can and should learn from each other.
