    Director of Safety and Security

    Job Overview:

    The Director of Safety & Security plans, directs, and coordinates activities relating to the protection, safeguard and security of ministry assets, employees, members, visitors, and volunteers. Their main responsibilities are to implement security strategies, policies, standards, and establish programs and processes that provide a visible, positive, safe and secure environment throughout all services across all campuses.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

    Directs, examines, evaluates, and supervises King Jesus Ministry’s security operations, inclusive of physical security assets and security volunteers.

    Manages and coordinates parking employees and the volunteers of the ministry

    Responds to all security or safety related incidents and coordinates adequate response.

    Prepares and manages the department’s annual budget, including operational expenses and capital improvements and produces reports as needed.

    Evaluates and updates as needed current procedures and practices to accomplish activities and functions related to security and safety.

    Identifies and resolves security and safety threats for the ministry.

    Develops preventative security and safety programs, including the supervision of security volunteers, contractors, and employees.

    Conducts, supervises, and prepares reports relating to internal investigations of any losses or violations of regulations, policies, and procedures.

    Supervises and ensures that all log and incident reports are completed and are escalated as needed.

    Develops, implements, and conducts different security training sessions for staff and volunteers.

    Assists in the preparation of emergency management and contingency planning.

    Serves as a liaison with law enforcement, fire, and other agencies to promote safety and security.

    Performs, arranges, and supervises executive protection details for VIPs

    Maintains constant surveillance of all KJM properties through resources provided.

    Performs audits of security related performance and proactively conducts physical surveys of premises security, including security equipment condition.

    Participates in the ministry’s logistics team and disaster management team by providing professional feedback to ensure the ministry’s safety.

    Develops and updates the ministry emergency response plan.

    Coordinates executive protection and security coverage for local and international mission trips, services, and events.

    Controls inventory of radios and UHF communication systems for the ministry.

    Manages ministry’s VMS and access control systems.

    Manages all fire suppression equipment inspections and maintenance.

    Implements and enforce OSHA standards with employees in coordination with HR.

    May require traveling

    Other duties may be assigned.

    Professional Qualifications

    Experience in analyzing and resolving security problems.

    Experience in developing and implementing security policies and procedures for a multi-unit facility or campus environment is strongly preferred.

    Great time management, organization and prioritization abilities

    Computer Skills (Google applications, Microsoft Office, Facilities softwares)

    Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

    Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds.

    Must have and maintain the following Certificates and Licenses:

    Security License D

    Security License G

    Concealed Weapons Permit

    First Aid, CPR & AED

    OSHA 36 hours certification

    Education and/or Experience Requirements

    Bachelor’s Degree (4 Year Degree); or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
