    Maintenance Technician I

    Job Overview: The Maintenance Technician I will perform a variety of general, preventive and emergency maintenance to equipment, buildings and all KJM locations. The tech will perform duties which include electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and construction related tasks in the maintenance and repair of the KJM facilities and equipment. They will travel as necessary to a respective location.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Inspects buildings, equipment, grounds and systems to identify any issues to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards.

    Complete maintenance work orders as assigned and in a timely manner.

    Perform diagnostic tests and root cause analysis to figure out problems with machinery or equipment.

    Perform minor troubleshooting and repairs; replace light bulbs, ballasts and fuses.

    Complete a variety of tasks related to maintenance of machinery, including plumbing, electrical jobs, heating and air conditioning, structural concerns and more depending on the scope of the project.

    Perform a variety of locksmith duties; install, repair, and replace locks on doors.

    Maintains exterior gates of the building.

    Provides maintenance and repairs on all floors, ceilings, walls, roofs, furniture, HVAC systems, plumbing issues, and electrical issues.

    Provides support in moving office furniture to different locations.

    Assists in remodeling offices according to the available space within a building.

    Works with the Office Manager to purchase materials, tools and supplies from stores such as Home Depot, to fill the jobs requisitions when necessary.

    Adjusts the temperature of the air conditioner in all the premises when necessary.

    Provides maintenance of tools and equipment used in our department.

    Assists the parking department with the control of vehicles according to the reservations and car requests.

    Assists with the transportation of supplies for events inside and outside of our premises.

    Implements setups and takedowns for a wide variety of events and activities.

    Operates forklift, bobcat, lift boom and other machinery and equipment to complete needed requests or provide maintenance.

    Assists in the transportation of heavy items.

    Suggests changes in work conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the department and work crew.

    Completes work in conformance to OSHA/ANSI and KJM standards with proper PPE.

    Available to work overtime and for on-call duties when assigned.

    Reports all work that was completed, pending, or any new and pending issues in an end-of-day report.

    Participates in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs

    Other duties may be assigned as needed.

    Professional Qualifications:

    Able to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish fluently.

    Must have a minimum of beginner knowledge of maintenance-related tasks.

    Has knowledge of Word processing software, spreadsheet software, and internet software. (Preferred)

    Must be able to adapt to changes in the department and meet demands.

    Able to lift and/ or move up to 100 lbs and work in environments exposed to wet or humid conditions related and unrelated to weather.

    Certificates and Licenses:

    OSHA Safety and Health Specialist Certificate (Preferred)

    Education/Experience:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
