Kinn Group is hiring for a summer intern to produce a limited series golf podcast in the San Diego area.

The ideal candidate:

• Has a demonstrable portfolio of long-form sports reporting akin to The Athletic.
• Is an avid fan of golf and demonstrates broad and in-depth knowledge of the game.
• Has a bachelors or masters degree in journalism, writing, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Is (and can show past history of being) self-directed, organized, and over-communicates project progress in writing.
• Is willing to provide references upon request of past work and education history.
• Is located in San Diego, or Southern California and willing to spend time in San Diego as needed.
• Has excellent interviewing skills and verbal communication.

Your role:

• For a period of 6-10 weeks, run with a specific story thread and deeply investigate it from all angles.
• Interview relevant stakeholders, compile notes, and craft a narrative outline for an 8-episode limited series.
• Arrange all aspects of podcast production - from script writing, to recording, to publication.
• Organize branding, publicity, and sponsorship opportunities for the podcast.

This intern will be paid hourly with incentive payments tied to the success of the limited series if desired.
