    Job Description

    As a systems test engineer you will be responsible for testing and providing technical expertise in the evaluation of SSD products in specific customer platforms. Often, you will get the opportunity to interact with both the customer as well as Japan to resolve work-related matters. DUTIES INCLUDE:

    • Working alongside lead qualification engineers to help assist in the qualification of KIOXIA SSD memory products.
    • Maintaining and managing an extensive test setup that includes hands-on testing of multiple NVMe servers and storage platforms.
    • Performing preliminary failure analysis on NVMe solid state drives that fail during qualification or are returned for urgent field issues.  
    • Tracking status on drives sent to Japan for further failure analysis.  
    • Generating reports and providing timely updates to both our OEM and internal support teams
    • Supporting our large OEM customers
    • Engaging with both the customer and Japan teams to develop qualification test plans, determine required equipment and develop schedules to meet the customer's needs
    • Diagnosing, debugging and documenting customer technical issues to facilitate solutions and closure of issues
    • Performing preliminary failure analysis on drives which fail during testing
    • Performing other related duties as required

    KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

    • Knowledge of NVMe Interfaces as well as a well-rounded understanding of SAS/SATA interface, storage architectures, operating systems, and RAID file systems
    • Knowledge of storage architectures, operating systems and file systems
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer engagement skills
    • 5 plus years of experience in the SSD or computer industry
    • Have experience in using SAS and/or SATA protocol analyzers

    EDUCATION

    • B.S. or M.S.  in Engineering (Mechanical, Production, Electrical, Electronics or Computer Science)
