The ideal candidate will work closely with Product Line Management and Engineering to lead the technical marketing of KIOXIA’s KumoScale software-defined storage product. The TE will evangelize the technology and benefits of KumoScale to drive customer awareness and adoption of the platform, and will  provide world-class technical marketing support to internal cross-functional teams. Role may be based out of San Jose, CA or Remote RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Content Creation: Develop technical content (white papers, presentations, blog posts, etc.) to educate customers about our solutions, as well as excite, motivate, and inspire them to transition to true cloud storage infrastructure based on NVMe-over-Fabrics and KumoScale.  Doing this well will require an ongoing effort to build and maintain a deep understanding of the product.
    • Be a Trusted Advisor:  Help build a reputation both within the company and among KIOXIA customers as a recognized authority on best-practices for cloud storage technology. Drive technical responses to customer inquiries and requests, including customer RFIs and RFQs, specification gap analyses, and technical deep dives

    Qualifications

Software Engineering: To explain a complex software product, you must first understand it.  This job doesn’t require writing code, but it does require communicating efficiently with those who do.  We think that’s best accomplished if you have at least some prior experience or training in software development. Technical Breadth: Many of the core technologies on which KumoScale is based didn’t exist just a few years ago.  So, continuous learning is an absolute requirement to be successful in this role.  We want to see evidence that you are a “learner” – that you’ve already absorbed a solid working understanding of a broad swath of technical topics relevant to cloud storage and can apply these principles in new situations.  You should be conversant with the key ideas in several areas such as these:

    • 4+ years of experience in storage engineering in flash memory and solid state disks
    • Understanding of how Networking effects remote storage, e.g. switching/routing, congestion control, internetworking, load balancing
    • Familarity with storage systems, e.g. block vs. file vs. object, data sharing, durability & availability
    • Familarity with application execution environments, e.g. bare-metal vs. virtualized vs. containerized vs. serverless, kubernetes
    • Working knowledge of DevOps concepts, frameworks, tools, and techniques
