    Job Description

KIOXIA America Inc., formerly Toshiba Memory America Inc., is looking for a INTEGRATED MARKETING MANAGER to join our KumoScale business unit. KumoScale’s mission is to deliver software that enables cloud datacenter operators to consume very high performance flash storage as a cloud-native service. The ideal candidate will create the public face of KumoScale and equip our bus.-dev. and sales teams with up-to-date presentation decks, create and maintain a compelling and informative web presence, coordinate and participate in public speaking opportunities, and coordinate the creation of a steady stream of application notes, solution briefs, webinars, and other artifacts across a wide range of channels. The Integrated Marketing Manager will also leverage our outbound marketing organization wherever possible, but make no mistake; this is a “hands-dirty” content creation job too.

This role reports to our KumoScale Director of Product Management.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

This task comprises three main parts:

    1. Collateral: Author white papers, tech notes, blogs, data sheets, technical documentation and PowerPoint decks for press releases and product manuals
    2. Web site: Manage inbound and outbound content, web site mechanics, CRM (HubSpot), social media and blog.
    3. Evangelism: Our customers are early adopters; they are people who have unusual vision, and who want their technology partners to share that vision and communicate on their level.

The Integrated Marketing Manager must position KIOXIA & KumoScale as thought-leaders – as an organization capable of far more than delivering storage software. We must be seen as a trusted advisor – a partner who can confidently guide our customers along the path to an utterly new way to store and manage their data.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • A polished communicator: You must be skilled at finding effective ways to convey technical ideas to audiences ranging from engineers to senior executives. You must also be fluent at reading between the lines, able to hear what wasn’t said, and exhibit empathy; the ability to perceive how what you say was internalized by the listener.
    • Relentlessly curious: This job requires understanding a complex product, and the complex set of problems it solves. Whatever you know today, it won’t be enough tomorrow. So, you should have an appetite for new technical concepts, and the ability to find and extract the information you need from people with a wide variety of knowledge levels, language skills, and communications styles.
    • A connector: You’ll be in the public eye, and will also be the force behind KumoScale’s social media presence. You need to have the skills and charisma to build and nurture a following, both personally and on behalf of a product or organization.
    • Autonomous and determined: You should have the ability to run with direction & clarify when needed, but overall develop and deliver complete results with minimal executive involvement. A creative problem solver who finds ways around obstacles, working all angles without giving up.
    • Sensitive to cultural differences: Comfortable and effective in a multi-cultural environment.
    • Self-aware: Capable of giving thoughtful feedback and open to receiving it; eager to improve.

    SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE YOU’LL NEED:

    • Capable of managing (and authoring) integrated marketing content and customer interactions end-to-end (core platform is HubSpot)
    • Fluent in PowerPoint, Word, Excel
    • 8+ years of experience in Product Marketing.  We have a web team, but you’ll need to understand their work processes well enough to manage them well.
    • An understanding of General Technical Breadth
      • Computer architecture; caching & coherence, queueing, NUMA issues, bandwidth vs. latency tradeoffs, virtual memory
      • Linux internals
      • Database architecture & concepts, particularly distributed
      • Large-scale datacenter networking architecture & concepts
      • Flash/SSD characteristics
      • Networking; switching/routing, congestion control, internetworking

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s/Master’s in one or more degrees in EE, CS, or a related field
