    Job Description

    We are looking for an individual who wants to make a difference and bring their background and knowledge of the storage industry to assist in determining the needs of the future and aid in developing the future of our SSD product roadmap.  You will be responsible to help us expand and strengthen our current and new business.

    Your skills and background will help drive the following activities:

    • TECHNOLOGY FEASIBILITY– Develop a value proposition and articulate to internal exec management how concept correlates to improving the bottom-line and achieve resource allocation. Gain traction with customers by relating how concept creates value for them to invest in proof of concept development efforts. Work closely with Engineering in a global time zone to elaborate on architectural details and create a proof of concept development plans. Project manage and drive cross-functional teams to successfully complete feasibility studies.
    • STRATEGIC INNOVATION– Apply your in-depth SSD and storage systems experience to come up with new concepts, features and customer solutions to address the strategic issues including analysis of ongoing technology proposals of Industry Standard working groups. Participate in quarterly customer technology review meetings and lead the discussions with Customer architects relating to advanced technology topics and assess customer pain points. Identify solutions by way of new concepts/features and conduct deep dive discussions with customer architects to achieve validation. Define which system level use cases can benefit and articulate how the concept reduces system-level inefficiencies for the use cases.
    • STRATEGIC ANALYSIS– Analyze market trends to perform New Segment and Market Analysis, forecasting, business profitability analysis and new business planning. Understand key technology trends and competitive landscape changes to analyze impact to future SSD products and business. Develop and articulate your point of view to get technical and business executive management on board with your assessment of the potential strategic issues to address.
    • PORTFOLIO ANALYSIS AND PRIORITIZATION – Work with Customers, Product Line Management and Business Development teams to identify opportunities for new product introductions in Product Roadmap. Conduct needed analysis to assist with prioritization of product portfolio including resource analysis, competitive analysis, strategic analysis with game theory to recommend a business strategy that is based on a range of possible outcomes.
    • INDUSTRY COLLABORATION AND EVANGELIZATION - Public speaking, presentation skills, promotional skills, contract negotiation. Occasionally assist with Marketing strategies and go to Market Planning.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE NECESSARY FOR SUCCESS

    • ​10+ years of Product Development, Strategic Marketing, or Product Management in the storage industry or related industries
    • In-depth technical and business understanding of SSDs, how SSDs interact with storage systems and server systems in Enterprise and Data Center environments
    • Good understanding of architectures and technologies in Compute, Networking, and Storage
    • Ability to handle multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional global teams in multiple time zones
    • Ability to work well autonomously and with diverse, multi-cultural teams
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills are must, including excellent presentation and public speaking capability
    • Enthusiasm, drive and energy to champion new business opportunities, and the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels
    • Familiarity with Japanese language and culture a plus
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is a must; MBA is a plus
