Job Description

KIOXIA America Inc., formerly Toshiba Memory America Inc., is looking for a Principal Software Engineer in the Memory and Storage Strategy Division department. The ideal candidate will be working with the Principal Architect of MSSD to develop software that enables cloud/hyper-scale storage solutions for some of the largest internet companies in the world and for development of host software consisting of reference storage solutions and software development kits for open source platforms. You will also work with the latest solid state storage devices and future innovative memory and storage media to enable our storage devices to thrive in a software-defined world.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working with hyper-scale internet companies, the open source industry (including the Linux Memory/Storage Sub System communities), developing and contributing our solutions which includes both software and hardware components. This is a very collaborative position and you will also be responsible for providing technical knowledge and systems knowledge to enable a Storage Software Strategy team to execute on future solutions for expanding the Storage components device business.

REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 5 years’ experience developing Data Center Infrastructure class Linux software or Enterprise class storage solutions in a software development organization
• At least 5 years recent experience architecting filesystems, block device layer drivers, or data management functionality for storage systems
• At least 3 years' experience building systems-level software (e.g. Linux kernel modules)
• Familiar with open source industry and the open source community development process
• Deep knowledge in of how storage systems are used by software applications
• Good written and excellent verbal communication.

Other:

• Working knowledge of Memory sub-system and Storage Class memory
• Working knowledge of 3D NAND, SLC/MLC/TLC/QLC, SSD and FTL.

EDUCATION:

• BSCS or BSCE
