    Job Description

    KIOXIA America Inc., formerly Toshiba Memory America Inc., is looking for a Business Development Manager for our Irvine, CA or San Jose, CA office. The ideal person for this role will participate in and drive the activities of a broad functional area or multiple functions.  The key challenge in this role is to thoroughly understand the cloud and enterprise solid state storage market and its landscape and analyze its emerging trends as well as competitive positioning to determine the ideal strategy for future product concepts.

    The ideal candidate will evangelize new product concepts and support all efforts with superior customer contact and relationship building. Strong contacts with technical and engineering organizations at major cloud companies is highly desired. The successful candidate will have experience running external business relationships and driving cross-functional internal teams, be comfortable dealing with uncertainty in a fast-paced environment and be able to put structure to nebulous, unstructured problems.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Contacting potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings.
    • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives.
    • Researching organizations and individuals to find new opportunities.
    • Finding and developing new markets and improving sales.
    • Maintain sound knowledge of the industry, trends and the competitive posture
    • Negotiate large and complex software contracts; integrating requirements by effectively balancing customer needs with business objectives
    • Proven ability to achieve results working in matrixed, complex, fast-moving and constantly changing sales environments within an extremely competitive market
    • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events.
    • Developing goals for the development team and business growth and ensuring they are met.
    • Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field. Technical degree in electrical engineering or software is highly preferred
    • 10+ years of professional experience
    • 5+ years of sales experience with high-technology company
    • Background in SSD Storage and flash memory
    • Proven ability to build strong and continuous partner relationships
    • A highly consultative sales background with superb written & oral communication skills
    • Established financial acumen
    • Strong interpersonal, organizational, & presentation skills
    • Capacity to think and act on both a tactical and strategic level
    • Proven track record of closing substantial deals
    • Strong business acumen and the capacity to multitask
    • Strong work ethic
    • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
