    KIOXIA America Inc., formerly Toshiba Memory America Inc., is looking for an Engineer I in the Industry Standards department. The Engineer I has a great opportunity to join a winning team focusing on leading interactions with Standardization Bodies related to Storage and SSD Technologies. The right candidate will also be able to further the interests of KIOXIA and the industry at large in defining how products will function and interact in the future. 

    The position requires creating, analyzing and monitoring technical proposals. The right candidate will need to be able to work across teams within KIOXIA including Marketing and Engineering to coordinate product definition and development in accordance with industry standards, and to drive the standardization of KIOXIA’s innovative new features and products. 

    This role reports to the Director, SSD Industry Standards.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work closely with the Enterprise, Client and Datacenter SSD Marketing and Engineering to:
    • Assist in creating standardization game plans for KIOXIA to move proposals forward.
    • Work with customers, suppliers, and partners to create new technical proposals or improve other companies’ technical proposals to better fit the needs of KIOXIA and KIOXIA’s customers
    • Participate in committees, working groups, etc. of the relevant standardization bodies as a KIOXIA representative
    • Forward the interests of KIOXIA’s products through the development of standards
    • Manage the collection, organization, storage, and internal distribution of standards documents, proposals, and other technical or relevant materials
    • Further the brand and demonstrated thought leadership of KIOXIA as a Storage Leader
    • Accelerate the industry wide adoption and ecosystem readiness for new Storage technologies
    • Identify emerging standards bodies and position KIOXIA in a leadership position as deemed appropriate
    • Coordinate and execute bi-weekly to monthly internal review meetings

    PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

    • Knowledge of flash memory, storage devices and/or storage systems, including PCI Express, SATA, SAS, and NVM Express.
    • General understanding of server, storage system (including high end enterprise storage), datacenter, and client PC design
    • General understanding of SSD and Flash Memory technologies
    • Excellent communication skills including the ability to summarize, present, and prioritize across complex industry standards
    • Ability to create technical proposals, specifications, and presentation materials
    • Excellent communicator and listener – both up and down the organization
    • Self-aware and open to receiving and eager to act on feedback regarding development areas
