Kiru is an early-stage FinTech company aimed to revolutionize the way companies pay their employees and the way employees purchase financial services. The app provides a payroll function sold to employers through which the paying company’s employees can access various financial and consumer services.

Position Description

Kiru is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Architect who possess both strong technical depth and proven track record in design and development of complex cloud native applications, digital ecosystems and infrastructures. The Lead Architect will report to the CTO and work closely with the Product and Development teams to design modular, highly flexible and scalable, reliable and cost-effective cloud native applications and architecture.

The position is located at Kiru’s global headquarters in Austin, TX.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrable Solution/System Architecture experience gained within FinTech or other SaaS consumer-facing ecosystem or environment.
• Proven track record of designing and deploying modular, micro-services based, highly-scalable cloud-native infrastructures.
• Strong experience and knowledge of non-functional aspects of cloud platforms (performance, HA, resiliency, security).
• Capable to analyze functional and business requirements and design/choose best mixed of cloud architecture and underlying services.
• Support Product Owner and Functional Analyst in product functional design.
• Participate in code review process to ensure application quality,
• Monitor and enforce architecture / technological consistency among all platform components.
• Design and manage the technical aspects of the platform:
  • Enforce a modular micro-services platform architecture to support fast go to market and cost efficiency,
  • Ensure application architecture to meet non-functional and certification/regulatory requirements,
  • Design new API.
• Prepare design of deployment architecture (TAF)

Requirements

• 6+ years design & implementation experience with distributed applications or 5+ years in lieu of no Bachelor’s degree
• Senior level experience architecting/developing/operating solutions built on AWS or Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Proven experience in designing, developing, testing and deploying of cloud native software solutions.
• Strong general knowledge in Information Technologies and Software Development Lifecycle, including current industry trends and their application.
• Experience in DevOps, configuration management, and automation.
• Expert-level knowledge and experience in multiple technologies/tools/processes relevant to cloud native software development.
• Broad understanding of issues related to performance, interoperability, security, availability, robustness, extensibility, flexibility, modularization, quality and integration of systems.
