    Position Summary

     

    This internship is a project – based, educational opportunity intended to prepare students to enter a Human Resources profession. You will spend your time learning about Boldt’s approach to hiring and developing talent by working with experienced senior management and business partners, as well as a cross – functional HR support team. Projects and job responsibilities will vary and could include working with talent acquisition, onboarding/offboarding, training and development, compensation, and/or labor relations.

     

     

    Required Skills

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities     

     

    • Handle a wide variety of administrative tasks, phone work, support services, and supporting projects for the Human Resources Department and facilitates an excellent customer experience
    • Develop strong relationships and partners with key employees, business leaders, external customers and vendors.
    • Perform research on internal and external topics, compose and format documentation, maintain records, and support any reporting needs as requested
    • Look at methods and enhancement opportunities.
    • Event planning support as necessary

     

     

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

     

    • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

    • Collaborative interpersonal skills with a high degree of confidentiality and ability to handle sensitive matters in a professional manner

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and in-depth knowledge of data- mining and Internet research

    • Ability to embrace the big picture and exercise judgement with a positive demeanor and can-do attitude

    • Strong organization skills and attention to detail with demonstrated ability to balance priorities and follow through

    • Curiosity and desire to learn new things

    • Critical thinking skills, analytical abilities and problem-solving skills

    • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced, team-oriented professional environment with ambiguity

    • Ability to work with minimum supervision and learn to work well under pressure with limited information and training

    • Must be dependable and prompt

    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensuring timely delivery of expected results

    Qualifications & Experience

     

    • Current enrolled at an accredited college or university as a Junior or Senior in an undergraduate program. Preferred majors/concentrations in HR Management, Organizational Development, business administration, or related fields.

    • Evidence of high academic achievement

    • Current or prior elected leadership experience preferred

    • Prior work experience in an office setting or providing customer service is a plus

     

    Additional Qualifications

    • This can be a summer 2020 or a year-round internship that could start as early as Spring 2020. Ability to work part time during the school year and full time during the summer is preferred. Flexibility is available based on school schedule.
    • May travel and participate in local career fairs or other Human Resources related events.

     

    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk and hear. The employee regularly is required to walk and reach with hands. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee frequently uses computer keyboard, regularly travels (as vehicle driver and as passenger on various modes of transportation), and occasionally performs work on-site at construction work sites. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employee views computer monitor frequently.
