    HOW YOUR ROLE FITS INTO BOLDT:

    Provide Field Installation Leadership for our Wind, Industrial and Power construction projects. This position reports to the Senior Director of Operations in the National Power and Industrial Business Unit and has a direct report to a specific Senior Project Manager for day to day activities and an indirect report to a Project Executive. Ultimately the focus of this role is to build a highly effective team culture on a construction project that supports the goals and expectations of the project by focusing on Safety, Installation, Heavy Rigging, Site Logistics, Planning, Construction Equipment Management, Productivity, Means and Methods of Construction, Lean Construction and Continuous Improvement.

    Required Skills

    WHAT YOU GET TO DO:

    • Collaborate with the Director of Safety and other Safety Professionals on establishing effective safety procedures and behaviors on each of our projects to meet our strategic goal of ZERO ACCIDENTS.
    • Champion the Project Safety Rules.
    • Participate in project kickoff meetings.
    • Evaluate and assist in selecting and supervising Subcontractors performance.
    • Review the estimate and project scope documents with the Project Manager prior to commencing work.
    • Gain solid understanding of contract terms and schedule.
    • Add valuable input of General Foreman and Foreman for a specific project. Connect with the Labor Coordinators on these selections.
    • Review, evaluate and provide direction to each of the Forman on a regular basis.
    • Review the planned means of construction for a project and provide input on opportunities for improvement.
    • Develop project man-power plans and a major equipment plans. Validate the current plans match the original estimates.
    • Support the development of a detailed project schedule.
    • Participate in the weekly interactive scheduling meetings.
    • Review and implement Quality Assurance measures from the specifications.
    • Participate in setting team project goals and individual goals.
    • Encourage and promote mentoring and training for the General Foreman and Foreman. Provide an example of good leadership.
    • Keep open and effective lines of communication with division staff and operation level personnel.
    • Build a strong working relationship with suppliers and vendors.
    • Build a culture of Continuous Improvement for each project. Embrace BoldThinking.

    Required Experience

    WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

    • Specific technical skills and computer software proficiency, ability to read blueprints, etc.
    • Behavior skills such as communication, problem solving or listening.
    • Strong understanding of the general construction, structural steel installation, crane setup, crane capacity, masonry, millwright work, heavy rigging, and critical lift plans.
    • Strengths should include excellent oral and written communications, strong ability to build effective construction teams, ability to manage challenges, accept opportunities, a focus on customer satisfaction, maintaining positive demeanor and strong leadership skills.
    • 10 to 15 years of proven experience in general construction as a Supervisor is preferred.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to position objects and operate tools or controls. Employee frequently uses computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to position self to maneuver in confined or awkward spaces. The employee regularly is required to remain in a stationary position and move to access people or machinery or workspaces. Employee is occasionally required to ascend and/or descend a ladder or stairs to reach work areas. The employee must regularly move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds. The employee is regularly required to travel (as vehicle driver and as passenger on various modes of transportation) and frequently performs work on-site at construction work sites. Specific abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employee views computer monitor frequently. The employee is required to be able to optimally communicate while on the job site and throughout the completion of duties.

    The working conditions of this position requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to maintain safety and prevent exposure to harmful materials. The environment for which this position functions may be exposed to prolonged loud noises and may contain scents and fragrances. May be requested to work overtime and weekends.
