    HOW YOUR ROLE FITS INTO BOLDT:

    The purpose of the Safety Manager is to create, inspire, and maintain a “Zero Incident” safety culture. The Safety Manager will lead, direct, facilitate, and support project “Zero Incident” safety initiatives. The Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring the completion of safety audits and inspections as well as all required internal and external reporting obligations are met, including monthly reporting of site safety metrics. Through planning, leading, evaluating, and continuously improving the awareness and practice of safe construction methods, the manager will strive to create an environment encouraging with a positive spirit and an integrated forward thinking culture.

    Required Skills

    WHAT YOU GET TO DO:

    • Assist in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through collaboration with department leadership.
    • Conduct work area inspections and keep track of equipment to ensure continued compliance.
    • Dedicated to ensure safety measures are taken and adhered to at assigned location.
    • Create and provide safety guides to ensure appropriate use of tools.
    • Participate in developing and conducting training to ensure appropriate inspection, maintenance, use of tools and specialty safety equipment.
    • Organize and inventory specialty safety equipment at assigned location.
    • Document all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions/activities. Review documentation to ensure all required records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures, and implement appropriate corrective action as required.
    • Establish locational standard methodologies and connect with other Boldt employees throughout the organization to improve practices.
    • Serve as a safety resource for employees and leadership.
    • Review safety related journals, catalogs, etc. to stay on top of changes/improvements in protective safety equipment, materials, and gear.
    • Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

    Required Experience

    WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in occupational safety, health or other related field of study required.
    • Minimum 10 years construction and/or industrial safety experience.
    • Thorough understanding of and ability to enforce all federal, state, local, and company regulations. Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures is crucial.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to position objects and operate tools or controls. Employee occasionally uses computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to position self to maneuver in confined or awkward spaces. The employee regularly is required to remain in a stationary position and move to access people or machinery or workspaces. Employee is occasionally required to ascend and/or descend a ladder or stairs to reach work areas. The employee must regularly move up to 20 pounds and occasionally move up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to travel (as vehicle driver and as passenger on various modes of transportation) and frequently performs work on-site at construction work sites. Specific abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employee views computer monitor regularly. The employee is required to be able to optimally communicate while on the job site and throughout the completion of duties.

    The working conditions of this position requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to maintain safety and prevent exposure to harmful materials. The environment for which this position functions may be exposed to prolonged loud noises and may contain scents and fragrances. May be requested to work overtime and weekends.
