    HOW YOUR ROLE FITS INTO BOLDT:

    As the Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) at the Boldt Company, you will provide transformational leadership in the strategic engagement and alignment of DEI initiatives within the company that help achieve our DEI goals with our employees, partners and suppliers. As a working leader and thought partner, the role will collaborate with executives, leaders and employees to implement policies, practices and strategies that create an intentional culture of inclusion and belonging for everyone. This position requires vision, operational and organizational skills to create productive and measurable outcomes across the enterprise. While an Appleton-based candidate is preferred, remote-based candidates will be considered.

    • Collaborate with our leaders to get results for the DEI strategic plan that is passionate about achieving higher levels of diversity representation, developing inclusive leaders and employees, and creating an environment where all employees feel like they belong and can thrive.
    • Develop, maintain and monitor our diversity metrics and reports that enable educated decision making and measurable outcomes.
    • Collaborate to design people and talent policies and practices that create a sense of belonging for all.
    • Play an active role on our corporate and regional DEI committees by providing thought leadership and alignment of DEI strategies with our business objectives.
    • Lead our Boldt education and communication around DEI. As the DEI subject matter expert, use relevant data and research to build and refine ongoing learning strategies and education for employees across the enterprise and our jobsites.
    • Partner with teams to integrate DEI capabilities into Boldt talent practices to create standard ways of working.
    • Plan, manage and deliver our DEI events for the enterprise and maintain the company’s DEI calendar of events and communication.
    • Partner with Talent Acquisition and Campus Recruiting to help identify diversity applicant opportunities to help create diverse pools of talent.
    • Partner with leaders around the enterprise to drive accountability and visibility around targeted improvements in diverse representation in our employee and partner and supplier demographics.
    • Provide coaching to teams who identify MBE, WBE and Veteran-owned firms for subcontractor partnership on our construction projects.
    • Partner with leaders and subject matter experts on how to generate and sustain strong diversity and community engagement for our projects.
    • Assist in business development activities related to providing DEI information for proposals and participating in proposals as needed.
    • Represent Boldt at company and outside events, developing strategic partnerships. Attend events and activities that further our DEI and business development goals.
    • Manage outside DEI consultants as needed.
    • Stay up to date on DEI standards, trends, opportunities, and legal developments through research, further education and networking.

    Required Experience

    What we expect from you:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sociology or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
    • Ten years of experience in leading DEI efforts in strategy, education and program management, preferably in a business setting.
    • Strong demonstrated experience in developing comprehensive DEI education.
    • Experience envisioning, strategizing, delivering and managing diversity programs in a highly matrixed environment with excellent results.
    • Strong presentation, consulting and coaching skills is essential.
    • Ability to use and analyze metrics to drive business outcomes.
    • Credibility with leaders in understanding the profitability drivers of our business is essential.
    • Experience in construction industry and setting up diverse partner and supplier programs is desirable.
    • DEI certification preferred (CDP or CDE or equivalent).
    • Proficiency with MS O365 suite of tools.

    Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position for up to eight hours. The employee occasionally is required to move to access people or workspaces. Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer. The ability to effectively communicate is required. The employee may occasionally move up to 15 pounds.

    The working conditions of this position requires the employee to work inside an office environment. The environment for which this position functions may contain scents and fragrances. May be requested to work overtime and weekends.
