    Job Summary: We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Staff Microbiologist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our product pilots and product lab verification, contributing to various research projects and ensuring compliance with Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) protocols. The Staff Microbiologist will conduct experiments (in the field and in the lab), perform microbial analysis, and contribute to the development and improvement of laboratory procedures.

    Responsibilities:

    • Travel locally within the Central Florida area and at times to other locations for several days/nights to conduct pilots at customer sites. Fieldwork is estimated at 25%-50% of work time.
    • Conduct microbial analysis, including isolation, identification, and characterization of microorganisms.
    • Perform aseptic techniques and handle potentially hazardous microorganisms in compliance with BSL-2 protocols.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support research projects and ensure accurate and timely completion of experiments.
    • Maintain laboratory records, document experimental procedures, and analyze and report data effectively.
    • Assist in the development and optimization of laboratory protocols and procedures.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues, evaluate results, and propose solutions.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
    • Stay updated with current scientific literature and emerging trends in microbiology.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience as a Microbiologist in a laboratory setting.
    • Proficiency in Excel, or similar tools, for data recording, analysis, plotting, and basic statistics.
    • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) protocols.
    • Proficiency in a wide range of microbiological techniques, including microbial isolation, identification, and characterization.
    • Familiarity with advanced laboratory equipment and analytical instruments.
    • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry.
    • Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and regulatory guidelines.
    • Knowledge of molecular biology techniques and microbial genomics.
    • Experience with data analysis software and statistical methods.
