    N8 Fire & Safety is seeking an experienced Kitchen Fire Suppression Systems Technician to join our growing life safety team. This role focuses on the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of commercial kitchen fire suppression systems, ensuring full compliance with NFPA standards and local fire codes. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, customer-focused, highly organized, and comfortable using Microsoft Office applications for reporting, documentation, and communication. This is a field-based position with strong income potential for motivated technicians. Responsibilities: • Install, inspect, service, and repair commercial kitchen fire suppression systems , including Ansul, Pyro-Chem, CaptiveAire , and similar manufacturers • Perform routine maintenance and inspections in accordance with NFPA 17A, NFPA 96 , and applicable local fire codes • Conduct pre- and post-installation testing, including resetting tension cables and verifying system functionality • Accurately complete service reports, inspection documentation, and work orders using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook • Communicate inspection results, system conditions, and recommended repairs clearly to customers • Coordinate with electricians, fire alarm technicians, and other contractors as needed • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety on job sites and in company vehicles • Stay current with certifications, manufacturer requirements, and industry best practices • Estimate service, repair, and installation costs for customers when required Troubleshoot and repair system components such as: • Agent tanks • Nozzles • Piping • Control heads Qualifications: • Hands-on experience servicing or installing kitchen fire suppression systems (commercial kitchens required) • Strong working knowledge of NFPA standards , fire codes, and safety regulations • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication • Excellent mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical drawings and schematics • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and customer service skills • Ability to work in demanding environments, including rooftops, commercial kitchens, and confined spaces • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record • High school diploma or equivalent Preferred / Additional QualificationsFEL-K or FEL-A license • Manufacturer certifications (Ansul, PyroChem, CaptiveAire, or similar) • EPA 608 Refrigerant Recovery Certification • National Appliance Service Technician Certification (NASTeC) or an associate degree from a technical/vocational program with 1+ year of field experience • Experience using field service or work order software Compensation: $70,000 – $80,000 annually
