  • Responsibilities

    We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Kitchen Lead to oversee kitchen operations, manage kitchen staff, and ensure the delivery of high-quality food in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. The Kitchen Lead will play a vital role in maintaining kitchen organization, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and fostering a positive work environment for the culinary team.

    Team Leadership:

    Supervise, train, and motivate production staff to ensure high levels of performance and morale.

    • Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring workload distribution is equitable and efficient.

    • Provide guidance and support to resolve any issues or conflicts within the team.

    Production Oversight:

    • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with established procedures and quality standards.

    • Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.

    Resource Management:

    • Assist in scheduling production activities and allocate resources (including manpower, equipment, and materials) efficiently to meet production targets with production supervisor.

    • Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement in production efficiency and cost reduction.

    Quality Assurance:

    • Conduct regular inspections of products and processes to ensure compliance with quality specifications.

    • Address any deviations from quality standards promptly, implementing corrective actions, as necessary.

    • Collaborate with the quality control team to implement and maintain quality management systems.

    Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including production volumes, downtime, and quality metric on production log sheet.

    • Prepare reports on production performance, identifying trends, issues, and areas for improvement. (continuous improvement)

    • Communicate production status and issues to management team in a timely manner.

    • Flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    • Performs all other duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Proven experience as a cook, kitchen lead, or similar culinary role.

    • In-depth knowledge of kitchen equipment, food preparation techniques, and safety standards.

    • Strong leadership and communication skills.

    • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

    • Ability to multitask and prioritize.

    • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

    • Culinary school or formal training is a plus.

    • Good problem-solving skills.

    • Some knowledge of the production process, such as HACCP and SQF, safety, and health protocols are required

    Physical Demands & Work Environment:

    • Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs).

    • Ability to work in a cold and noisy environment.

    • Position requires frequent sitting or standing for long periods of time with occasional reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, bending and twisting, cold environment.

    • Must be capable of understanding work instructions in English, both oral and written.

    • Must be able to distinguish colors to perform analysis.
