    The Opportunity: Kitchen Manager

    As the Kitchen Manager at Down on Grayson, you are the leader of all back-of-house operations — ensuring that every dish leaving the kitchen meets our high standards for quality, consistency, and presentation. You’ll manage the BOH team with a focus on efficiency, cleanliness, and collaboration while delivering an exceptional dining experience for every guest.

    What You’ll Do

    Lead the BOH Team: Hire, train, schedule, coach, and hold staff accountable with clear expectations and supportive leadership.

    Maintain Consistent Quality: Uphold recipe standards and portion controls while minimizing waste.

    Oversee Kitchen Operations: Direct productivity to maintain efficient ticket times and ensure a smooth, coordinated service.

    Ensure Safety & Compliance: Follow and enforce all health department regulations, food safety guidelines, and sanitation procedures.

    Manage Inventory & Ordering: Accurately order and maintain stock levels, track usage, and control COGS to meet company goals.

    Maintain Equipment: Ensure proper use, cleaning, and maintenance of all kitchen equipment.

    Drive Results: Achieve targets in cost control, guest satisfaction, labor efficiency, and health inspection scores.

    What You Bring

    3+ years in a high-volume scratch kitchen, including leadership experience.

    Proven ability to develop and inspire a BOH team to meet operational and quality goals.

    Current Food Manager and TABC certifications.

    Strong knowledge of restaurant compliance requirements at the federal, state, and local levels.

    Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods.

    Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and mixed shifts.
