Job Summary We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our growing team at bb.q Chicken in Newark, DE near Univ of Delaware. In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading, managing, and mentoring a small kitchen staff. The ideal candidate will be responsible for running the day to day operations of the kitchen to include but not limited to:
Responsibilities:
Open and/or Close the kitchen
Execute and/or mentor others on daily preparation of food to ensure quality and standards
Execute and/or mentor others on cooking of menu items while maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards
Execute and/or mentor others on packaging of menu items to ensure orders are prompt, correct, and appealing
Help maintain and track appropriate inventory levels of food supplies and ingredients
Setup and maintain kitchen fixtures and equipment in proper working order and cleanliness
Supervise and delegate tasks to other team members
Maintain open communication with upper management of restaurant and personnel status
Follow all food safety regulations
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a chef or line cook or shift lead
ServeSafe or Food Handler’s Certification preferred
Ability to remain calm and thrive under pressure
Excellent time management skills
Strong leadership skills
