    The kitchen manager's main purpose is to run the kitchen smoothly in a restaurant or food establishment. They oversee food prep, manage the kitchen staff, and keep an eye on costs by controlling inventory and minimizing waste. They make sure the food is top-notch and follows safety regulations, while also handling customer complaints and coordinating with FOH. Kitchen managers maintain kitchen equipment and ensure cleanliness. They're the captain of the kitchen, ensuring everything runs well and customers have a great dining experience. This position requires strong leadership skills, a passion for training, and the ability to manage and inspire diverse teams.

    POSITION SPECIFIC TASKS

    Lead, Motivate & Hold Accountable

    Lead, motivate, coach, support and hold accountable all staff and managers.

    Make quick decisions to resolve issues as they arise.

    Verify recipe standards and procedures are always followed.

    Stay updated on food safety laws and regulations and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

    Complete daily health inspection checklists to ensure compliance.

    Team Development & Staffing

    Actively seek out and develop promising individuals for the Assistant Kitchen Manager & shift leader positions.

    Interview and hire all BOH positions.

    Take the lead by inspiring, mentoring, and having your team's back to help them thrive and succeed.

    Maintain and promote leadership ladder & bench strength. Actively encourage and assist team with completion of development courses in Juno Journey.

    Conduct quarterly 1 on 1’s with team.

    Lead and verify correct training methods and materials in use.

    Cost Control

    Effectively managing food costs by limiting waste and maintaining proper inventory levels.

    Write BOH schedules using labor forecasting to follow labor budgets.

    Ensure organization and rotation of all products.

    Quality Control

    Test product daily to validate meeting JB’s standards.

    Create freestyle within JB’s guidelines.

    Ensure customers have a positive experience.

    Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.

    Jack of All Trades

    Oversee the maintenance and repair of kitchen equipment.

    Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
