    FLSA CLASS: Non-exempt

    JOB TYPE: Part Time

    SALARY: $17.90/hr

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Program Support and Resource Specialist (PSRS) assists Financial Education Manager in coordinating multiple need based services to clients who are enrolled in short and long term financial self-sufficiency programs.  The PSRS determines client's needs and enrolls or refers clients to either in-house or community services, and is responsible for data entry into our internal database. Knowledge of the social service network throughout Kitsap County, and familiarity with the community is essential. Attentions to detail and managing effective resources for clients is crucial, as well as superior customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

    This position requires the ability to multi-task, stay calm under pressure and deescalate issues when necessary.  The PSRS must be comfortable working with families and individuals that may be in crisis and or /suffer from mental illness.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION

    • AA or Bachelor's degree OR equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience in Financial Education or Community Services.

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

    • Two years' experience working with low-income families
    • Client intake and/or case management and non-profit expertise desired

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    • Intermediate level proficiency in MS Office ( Outlook, Word and Excel)
    • Ability to understand, create and manage electronic data and various file formats.
    • Exceptional organizational skills, time and appointment management.
    • Ability to exercise sound judgment and effective decision-making skills to accomplish goals and creatively problem solving issues.
    • Ability to work effectively with and diverse populations.
    • Must have reliable transportation in order to adhere to attendance expectations

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSBILITIES

    • Completes intake appointments to determine eligibility for financial assistance or service assistance.
    • Processes and assesses income documentation for pending applications
    • Practices excellent time management and organizational skills in order to meet applications or reporting deadlines for contractual compliance.
    • Enforces agency and program eligibility requirements and policies.
    • Maintains and updates client information while ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
    • Corrects electronic and paper client files in case of an error
    • Ensures client information is kept confidential
    • Develops and maintains knowledge of available services both within KCR and in larger community in order to provide referrals and resources to client who are seeking services.
    • Builds and maintains positive working relationship with fellow staff, vendors, clients and other agencies.
    • Performs general office duties such as typing, filing, copying, faxing, answering phone and routing calls.
    • Responds to all inquiries in a friendly manner within 24 hours
    • Regular, daily attendance and punctuality is essential to our business and this position
    • Communicates respectfully regardless of any expression of diversity.
    • Willingness to be flexible in supporting planned operational needs. This may include participating in events on an evening or Saturday.

    ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL FUNCTIONS

    Requires intermittent sitting, walking, twisting, bending and occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds. Requires accuracy, confidentiality, good communication, judgment and the ability to remain calm.
