    Job Description

    Klinedinst PC is seeking a Jr. Data Analyst who exhibits top-notch critical thinking, exceptional substantive skills, and the desire to provide exceptional service to work in both our eDiscovery and Information Technology departments. This critical role will be collaborating alongside the CIO, IT Staff, and the eDiscovery Administrator supporting the firm’s eDiscovery and IT related data manipulation needs.

    The Jr. Data Analyst may at times also work directly with attorneys, paralegals, and secretaries in all of the firm’s West Coast offices, as well as personnel in related office services, information technology and the firm’s management team in order to accomplish data driven needs of the office.

    The core essential duties and responsibilities included in this role include:

    • A fundamental understanding of data life cycles and data mapping.
    • Create, maintain, and archive databases residing in the firm’s eDiscovery environment as well as layered infrastructure.
    • Familiarity with AWS Glacier backup services.
    • Familiarity with Converged and Hyperconverged environments.
    • Ability to learn and adapt to new software advances easily.
    • Receive and analyze incoming data in preparation for loading and processing.
    • Strong documentation ability to record and keep complicated indexes of archival data and provide high level reporting of data sets.
    • Ability to identify data gaps and work with large data sets.
    • Understanding of Data Governance and Data Governed Environments.
    • Understanding of SQL servers.
    • Basic understanding of forensically sound copying tools.
    • Ability to remain organized and function at a high-level in deadline driven environment where priorities will often compete.
    • Perform advanced document services tasks using Export/PDF tools, batch utilities, and diagnostic software.
    • Conceptual understanding of data migrations.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common legal, medical, scientific and technical resources, financial reports, internet research, and legal documents. Verbal and written communication skills should be exemplary. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, members of the firm, and the business community. Ability to effectively present information to supervisors, management, attorneys, clients and opposing parties.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compare rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to define problems, perform independent analysis, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    Due to the time constraints associated with the nature of litigation and the competing priorities of the organization’s workload, this position is regularly required to deal with strict deadlines requiring increased efficiency and, at times, may result in increased stress. This position requires independent authority in the management of multiple projects and may require work in excess of forty (40) hours per week.
