    POSITION SUMMARY

    Ensures that environmental health and safety (EH&S) system requirements are established, implemented and maintained with conformance to the MillerKnoll EH&S managements systems and goals as site champion. Build and grow the EH&S department. Lead EH&S professional(s) by providing feedback, development opportunities, and coaching. Provide EH&S leadership, coaching and technical support for corporate or facility-based assignments and projects.

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Applies sound project management and engineering principles
    • Develop and manage project schedules, expenses and capital plans and other resources assigned to ensure the timely completion of projects and within budget.
    • Leads cross-functional project teams and serve as a subject matter expert.
    • Manage responsibilities for site Environmental Health and Safety department.
    • May lead a team of EHS professionals in support of business objectives; plan and assign personnel for given projects or tasks.
    • Provide expert leadership and insight into new or emerging EHS concepts and technologies.
    • Provide leadership and technical support to EH&S committees and operational teams.
    • Recognize and communicate EHS trends to leadership with risk mitigation solutions.
    • Reviews new projects for EHS change management success, recommending changes in procedures or risk control measures.
    • Strategize the concepts of EHS compliance and continuous improvement goals with internal audience and around the globe in committee work and conversations with customers and other interested stakeholders at DatesWeiser and MillerKnoll.
    • Support multiple projects in various phases, simultaneously and draws on internal and external networks to achieve results. Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
    • Support and Facilitate EH&S Committee

    Required Experience

    Bachelor's Degree Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene or related degree.

    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or Certified Safety & Health Manager (CSHM).

    Minimum of 5 years Occupational Safety and Health experience.

    Working knowledge of OSHA regulations

    Demonstrated success in the field of EH&S management.

    Demonstrated understanding of loss control/insurance industry practices and requirements. Demonstrated experience with Local, State and Federal compliance agencies.

    Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, and related building/compliance codes and standards.
