    POSITION PROFILE

    This position will provide EHS support to the manufacturing operations and will ensure that all practices are in compliance with Knoll’s federal and local regulatory requirements.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Assist with the maintenance and operation of the Environmental, Health and Safety program
    • Reinforce safety practices and procedures, mainly within a manufacturing environment
    • Support and assist with accident/incident investigations with evaluation of root cause and corrective actions
    • Support and assist the EHS manager with worker’s compensation claims, including RTW and Modified Duty programs
    • Coordinate with and maintain a relationship with all applicable regulatory agencies as needed                (e.g. OSHA, MOL, EPA, CEPA, etc.)
    • Maintain filing system with regards to work related employee medical records, SDS database and IH testing.
    • Assist with Hazard Risk Assessment (HRA) evaluations, developing and working with various teams to develop preventative measures as well as corrective actions
    • Conduct facility safety training including new hire safety orientation
    • Maintain Contractor Safety Program
    • Ability to develop, communicate and implement project management plans
    • Prepare required EHS reports for site, corporate, and government purposes and ensure all facilities comply with regulatory standards. 
    • Conduct various EHS training including but not limited to: New Hire Employee Orientation, LOTO, Fall Protection, Storm Water/Spills, Hazardous waste, ISO 14001 etc.
    • Conduct ergonomic job evaluations using various tools/techniques such as NIOSH lifting equation
    • Conduct various EHS audits for the manufacturing operations and prepare reports outlining the findings including corrective/preventative actions (experience with ENHESA compliance auditing program a plus)
    • Create and implement various EHS SOP’s at the site and corporate level
    • Analyze and interpret various EHS metrics
    • Other duties as assigned

      

    Required Skills

    Level of Education: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree; or equivalent experience
    • CSP, CRSP, ASP, CHRP or Equivalent designation preferred; or working towards.

    Minimum 2 - 5 years' experience in an EHS position within a manufacturing environment

    Experience with claims management  

    Required Experience

    • Working knowledge of federal and local regulations (e.g. OSHA, MOL, EPA, CEPA, TSSA, DOT)
    • Experience working with ISO 14001 or management systems
    • Experience working with regulatory compliance (air waste & wastewater)
    • Experience with OSHA VPP or Safety Group requirements (Considered and asset)
    • Exposure to ergonomic assessments2+ to 5 Years4 Year Degree (Or equivalent experience)Up to 25%
    • Travel: up to 25%
