    Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine seeks applicants for a full-time 5-day per week, non-tenure track, pediatric dental faculty position as DIRECTOR OF ADVANCED EDUCATION PROGRAM IN PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY. The Advanced Education Program at Boston University is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). 

     

    Applicants must have a DDS/DMD or equivalent degree, evidence of prior teaching and/or administrative experience, and be eligible for full dental licensure or limited dental licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Research training at the Masters or Ph.D level is a plus.

     

    Certification as Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry is required for this position.

     

    Applicants should demonstrate significant teaching experience and academic dental leadership. Candidates responsibilities will include resident selection for the Advanced Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry, curriculum development and implementation, directing departmental courses and ongoing evaluation of program goals, objectives, and content/outcomes assessment. Candidate will have an oversight of the residents training and supervision at Boston University and in affiliated institutions and be responsible for the evaluation of resident performance. Additionally, the Director will be responsible for annual evaluations of faculty performance within their program; including a discussion of the evaluation with each faculty member. Candidate will also be responsible for overall continuity and quality of patient care, oversight responsibility for resident research, and responsible for determining the roles and responsibilities of associate program directors and their regular evaluation. Candidate will also be expected to contribute to the mission of the School and the Department by presenting occasional lectures and seminars in other courses, as may be appropriate. Candidate will be expected to represent the Program in national meetings, such as the annual AAPD meeting and the Program Directors annual meeting. There may be other duties that arise related to improving students’ learning and progress toward academic and clinical competency, as defined by Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
