The Laboratory Specialist will be based in Boston University's Photonics Center and dedicated to the work of the NSF Engineering Research Center in Cellular Metamaterials (CELL-MET). The ultimate goal of CELL-MET is to fabricate personalized heart tissue that could be used in the shorter term to test the efficacy of drugs and eventually to replace diseased or damaged muscle after a heart attack.

The Laboratory Specialist will support ongoing projects by expanding and maintaining human induced pluripotent stem cells, differentiating those cells to various cell lineages, and to aid the development of relevant in vitro tissue models.

This position provides an excellent opportunity for scientific learning, improving research skills and working in a dynamic team oriented environment for a recent graduate or a more experienced applicant.

Required Skills

BA required; MA preferred. One to three years' work experience.
