PATH is seeking a qualified TECHNICAL DIRECTOR, HIV AND HEALTH SYSTEM STRENGTHENING (HSS) for the anticipated Uganda Health Activity (UHA).UHA is expected to increase the survival and well-being of vulnerable populations and improve overall health system resilience in priority districts of Uganda through three intermediate results: 1) improved access to and use of quality maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH); family planning (FP)/reproductive health (RH); nutrition; and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH)/infection prevention and control (IPC) health services at facility- and community-levels; 2) enhanced local ownership and leadership for sustainable health outcomes; and 3) strengthened health system resilience at the regional-, district-, and community-levels.

The Technical Director, HIV and HSS will be responsible for technical oversight of technical assistance activities designed to strengthen PEPFAR local implementing partners and HSS. The Technical Director, HIV and HSS reports directly to the Chief of Party and works in tandem with the Technical Director, Integrated Health Service Delivery. This position will take a leadership role in ensuring UHA meets stated HIV and HSS goals, quality of implementation and program fidelity in accordance with PATH and USAID’s standards, and reporting requirements. The Technical Director, HIV and HSS will also coordinate with USAID, other USAID-funded and non-USAID-funded health implementing partners, and Government of Uganda institutions and their representatives, particularly at the regional- and district-level for HIV and HSS activities.

This support includes but is not limited to:
•Prepare dras of various policies and procedures to establish and maintain the study infrastructure
•Act as the liaison between the dierent cores for scheduling and communication purposes
•Prepare monthly bulletin, Steering Committee and Executive Committee updates, and other presentations as needed
•Maintain cloud content management system in ecient and eective manner for all study personnel (over 75 people)
•Prepare annual reports for submission to Observational Study Monitoring Board, NHLBI, and other bodies
•Oversee recruitment and management of students and volunteers to assist with project
•Capture minutes from meetings among dierent cores
•Assist in website and social media creation and maintenance for study
•Enter data and maintain records as needed
•Assist Administrative Director and Study PI in various other tasks as needed
Required Skills 1-3 years of relevant experience required. Bachelors Degree required, Masters Degree preferred. Willing to travel out of state a few times a year. Prior experience working on a clinical research study, including an epidemiological study or a clinical trial, is preferred. Candidate should be exible in situations, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and balance competing priorities. This position requires signicant communication capabilities. Candidate should have strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word skills.
