    POSITION SUMMARY

     

    Responsible for managing all aspects of the production and manufacture of raw material into fully cooked product. The Production Supervisor provides leadership and overall shift management, which include Safety and Quality Policies/Procedures, staff management, scheduling, evaluations, employee discipline, and training.

    Production Supervisor will ensure accuracy in all documentation. Supervisor will be highly motivated, self-directed and accountable. Must have the ability to effectively with all levels of management. Must have the ability to effectively with all the levels of management and the organization. Responsible for all aspects of production and manufacturing of all raw materials into a full cooked production.

    Required Skills

    MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    (Essential duties for which this position is responsible.)

     

    • Managing employees for maximum productivity, efficiency and job safety.
    • Manufacture a finished product, which meets and exceeds all quality and food safety standards.
    • Control operation cost through the use and application of statistical process control techniques. This includes the monitoring and improving of yields, downtime and reduction of shrinks.
    • Comply with all USDA guidelines and regulations including daily monitoring of SSOP and HAACP.
    • Train, develop, and supervise employees.
    • Daily verification   of production schedule to ensure maximum output from production.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be able to work in a cold environment
    • Must be able to walk extensively
    • Must be able to lift more than 50 pounds on an infrequent basis.
    • Must be able to stand on hard concrete floor for more than 8 to 10 hours
    • Must climb stairs frequently, frequent twisting

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

    • Previous supervising experience. Experience in meat industry essential.
    • College degree in meat or animal science preferred.
    • Previous training and experience in application of SPC techniques.
