  • Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    This position is responsible for the design and implementation of work cells, maintaining standard work per KPS and PSA guidelines.

     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Responsible for process improvements and daily manufacturing engineering support to the plant floor
    • Provide technical support for manufacturing cells in a manufacturing environment
    • Champion for introduction of new products to plant’s Machining & Assembly operation
    • Assist plant wide effort to maintain IATF-16949 or current applicable certification
    • Responsible for continuous improvement activities of the plant’s machining/assembly processes
    • If applicable Update / Revise / Improve CNC programming, tools and fixtures
    • Design and implement mistake proofing devices in the production floor.
    • Develop and prepare capital projects to implement process improvements
    • Participate and support Lean manufacturing and KPS activities
    • Primary responsible for PFMEA linkage and flow-down activities
    • Responsible for maintaining process documentation in the eCenter system
    • Responsible for SAP Work centers, routings and production versions loading and maintenance
    • Support PSA activities and procedures with team members
    • Has the authority to stop the production and/or shipment in case the quality of the product is compromised, in order to request the help needed to solve the problem.
    • Ensure customer requirements are met
    • Knows and Communicates the need for product safety.
    • As well performs all those activities that by the nature of the position are required.

    • Time and motion study and improvement, work balancing
    • Failure mode and effect analysis
    • Good knowledge of automation systems
    • Measurement systems analysis
    • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
    • Problem solving and Six Sigma methodologies
    • Poka yokes
    • DMAIC methodology
    • Data analysis and problem solving

    EXPERIENCE: 

    • Relevant experience in manufacturing or engineering fields.

    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

    • BS degree in Engineering (ME, MET, EE, EET) required
    • Greenbelt Certified preferred
