  • Responsibilities

    Responsible for assisting in the supervision of employees and activities involved in ensuring the safe production of a wide range of products in compliance with company, customer and government requirements. Position requires flexibility in scheduling, as this position may be assigned multiple shifts and areas of responsibility within the department, as needed for operational demands and coverage. This position is intended to further the growth of current high potential employees into future Production Supervisor openings and is not intended to be a permanent assignment for any selectee.

    MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    _(Essential duties for which this position is responsible.) _

    • Responsible for a variety of supervisory activities including scheduling, training, coaching and making recommendations to the Production Supervisor about performance, hiring and termination decisions.
    • Participate in the transitions between shifts and communicate key information to peers, team members and Production Management.
    • Provide back-up to the department’s Group Leaders and Supervisors.
    • Prepare a variety of routine reports and documents involving product quality and safety
    • Ensure operational compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in the areas of safety, employment, quality, work rules, good manufacturing practices, hazard analysis and critical control points, and other as established by communicating requirements to employees, validating understanding and correcting behavior as required.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    _EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS _

    • High School or GED, or equivalent and relevant experience and education. Four year degree preferred.
    • Planning, organizing, coordinating and leadership skills.
    • Computer skills
    • Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
    • Strong problem solving, and decision making skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
    • Bilingual preferred.
