    LOCATION: YANGON, MYANMAR

    DIVISION: INFECTIOUS DISEASES, MYANMAR COUNTRY PROGRAM

    PATH has an office established in Myanmar in late 2013. The PATH Myanmar Country Program is currently implementing a broad portfolio of activities on a range of health issues including infectious diseases, nutrition, vaccines and immunization systems strengthening, digital health and sexual and reproductive health.

     

    PATH is seeking a PROGRAM MANAGER under the Infectious Diseases portfolio to oversee the day-to-day management and quality implementation of the PATH’s TB and HIV projects including advancing strategy, translation of evidence, coordination and communication with stakeholders globally and locally including national programs. This position reports to the Director Infectious Diseases in PATH, Myanmar.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for the technical expertise to support to national program and other partners in the areas of infectious diseases mainly TB, HIV and Hepatitis.
    • Manage effective collaboration, communication and relationships with key stakeholders including national programs and implementing partners
    • Develop, implement, and manage project work plans, track progress, analyze and communicate project progress to the Director.
    • Support to undertake project related research in close collaboration with national programs, PATH regional and global teams to ensure appropriate ethical standards are in place
    • Oversea the  implement of the activities on infectious disease in the form of trainings, mentoring and development of tools.
    • Support in strengthening integrated health care in collaboration with Family Health programs
    • Participate in routine in-country, regional and global virtual meetings on infectious diseases, and facilitate decision making on country specific strategies and activities.
    • Oversee and support the preparation of project reports, analyses, and presentations.
    • Support relevant counterparts and partners in up taking evidence generated from various assessments and research
    • Supervise and mentor staff; support in recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes as needed.
    • Work closely with other programs of PATH including finance and administrative staff to provide regular operational support and oversight as required.
    • Participate in expanding the infectious disease portfolio of PATH, together with Director, including advising on country specific policies, strategies and guidelines on Infectious Diseases

     

    Required Skills Required Experience

     

     

    • Advanced degree in medicine, public health, infectious diseases, public administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Minimum ten years’ experience in the area of infectious diseases control and at least five years of experience in progressively responsible for directly managing and coordinating TB/HIV projects/programs
    • Project leadership skills in managing country project team with demonstrated ability to collaborate and coordinate with national programs and related departments, in technical areas of work and implementation of activities.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with partners to to deliver high quality project results
    • Demonstrated ability to engage with donors and national and international stakeholders
    • Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, coordinating, and collaborative skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills with ability to interact with diverse stakeholders and partners.
    • Good people management and communication skills to motivate employees with commitment to building a shared vision of the programs, setting standards and managing individual and team performance,
    • Comfortable managing in a flexible and changing environment, with ability to adjust plans and direction in response to local feedback and the iterative nature of the project.
    • Fluency in English.
    • Available to travel nationally and internationally up to 30 percent.

     

    PREFERRED:

    • Burmese nationality
    • Residing and working in Myanmar
    • Familiarity with national programs

  • Qualifications
    • Currently pursuing a 4-year degree at an accredited institution, preferably with completed coursework related to Supply Chain Management, Mathematics/Statistics, Engineering or Computer Science
    • Typically, student currently between their Junior and Senior years or between their 1st and 2nd years of graduate school will be considered for internships
