    Description

     

    SIGNIFICANCE

    • Is willing to grow into an automotive cybersecurity expert, which supports and shall be supported by the persons and organizational entities that carry out cybersecurity activities during system/ product development.
    • Through training and practical experience, provides automotive cybersecurity competence and capacity together with some project management competence

     

    TARGETS

    • Works with cybersecurity team to ensure that:
    1. a) product cybersecurity threats are identified, prioritized, and appropriate countermeasures are defined, implemented and tested in hardware and/or software on assigned embedded projects
    2. b) Project teams are coached to comply with ISO-SAE 21434 cybersecurity standard and UNECE WP29/R155

     

    POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION

    • Assigned by Project Manager as part of the project team(s), at the initiation of the product development
    • Reports to the Product Cybersecurity Director in a central role supporting multiple product lines

     

    SKILLS

    • At least 3 years experience in automotive/commercial vehicle electronic HW/SW development
    • Interest and willingness to learn application of automotive cybersecurity threat mitigations, including design techniques, implementation methods, verification and validation, penetration testing, forensic analysis, incident response, vulnerability management
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-national company with counterparts in other countries
    • Interdisciplinary systematic thinking / system comprehension / team player

     

    TASKS

    • Responsible for assigned cybersecurity activities within assigned project(s)
    • Plans and monitors the progress of assigned cybersecurity activities against the project’s cybersecurity plan
    • Contributes improvement ideas and lessons learned to Product Cybersecurity Director for continuous improvement of the cybersecurity activities in the corporate development process

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensures that assigned cybersecurity activities are fulfilled on assigned project(s)
    • Supports product cybersecurity discussions with customers on assigned project(s)
    • Duty to inform the BU/CoC Cybersecurity Director in case of cybersecurity risks/ deviations/ conflicts with project team or customer direction (Escalation)
    • If required, aligns cybersecurity issues in advance with BU/ CoC Cybersecurity Director before presenting in Core Team
    • Ensures that their judgements regarding the achievements of cybersecurity within a pre-gate review is aligned with the chosen Cybersecurity Assessor

     

    AUTHORITIES

    • Aligns with Project Quality Manager and Project Manager on work packages to be handled (tailoring)
    • Technical contributor to cybersecurity issues within the scope of the agreed work packages and skillset
    • Works with the appropriate project team members (e.g., systems engineer, electronic hardware engineer, software engineer) to assure cybersecurity requirements are assigned, understood, implemented, and tested for assigned projects
    • Coordinates and confirms cybersecurity development interface agreement with customers on assigned project(s)
    • Confirms cybersecurity items on pre-gate review checklists are completed to an acceptable level for the project to proceed
