  • Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY

     

    Supervise and coordinate daily activity of production maintenance mechanics for two shift operation.

    MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    (i.e.. Policies, procedures, goals, etc. for which you are responsible.)

     

    • Supervise, organize, and assign personnel to specific jobs involving mechanical, electrical, electronic controls, pneumatic, hydraulic, metal and plastic fabrication, pipe fitting, welding, preventive maintenance, etc., assisting personnel in these or any other general building repair activities.
    • Supervise the checking of equipment prior to production start-up, diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs as necessary to ensure that processing equipment will be in operation as required.
    • Supervise and maintain inventories of maintenance supplies and reorder parts as necessary.
    • Supervise the rebuilding and maintenance of electrical controls, motors, and starters.
    • Supervise the installation, relocation, and rewiring of plant equipment.
    • Respond to afterhours emergency repair calls as required
    • Supervise the maintenance of safe and sanitary working conditions and operating procedures.
    • Supervise training, assist employees, evaluate performance, enforce company rules, and maintain employee morale.
    • Maintain records relating to all maintenance activities and submit to the Maintenance Supervisor.
    • Coordinate preventative maintenance program (schedule activity and document).
    • Schedule personal accordingly to ensure coverage for production needs and maintenance requirements.
    • Provide maintenance employees with the proper equipment and parts to perform their function efficiently. 
    • Provide necessary guidance and training to ensure that all employees work safely and comply with food safety programs.
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Required Skills Required Experience

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
    • Minimum two to three years production experience (preferably in the food industry).
