    Knowesis provides professional, technical, and administrative support services to empower federal executives in the areas of strategy, analytics, operations, and medical, scientific, and social science research to more than 27 federal organizations.     Knowesis is currently seeking a Cloud Architect Consultant (CAC) in support of the United States Army Medical Command’s (MEDCOM) Information Technology (IT) and Information Management (IM) Directorate (G6). The MEDCOM G6 develops IT and IM plans, policies, and procedures in its enterprise architecture. The G6 provides oversight of the staff management for the development, acquisition, integration, operation, and sustainment of IT, IM, mobile applications, records management, systems, and services for MEDCOM and Army Regional Health Commands.

    The CAC will provide subject matter expert (SME) services to help our clients enhance business value using the Cloud delivery model. The CAC will help the client in identifying use cases or areas for the Cloud delivery model, support them in making migration decisions based on a set of criteria, and develop migration plans and business cases for the migration. The CAC will be part of a high-performing team that will enable the client to explore disruptive technology trends using the Cloud through ideation, evaluation of opportunities and risks, and creating business transformation maps, and highlighting business outcomes.

    This position requires a SECRET clearance and requires U.S. Citizenship (applicants without proof of US citizenship will not be considered due to the position’s security clearance requirement)

    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in developing, modernizing, and migrating applications/systems and data into Cloud Infrastructure.
    • Provide full life cycle and enterprise architecture support on designated projects and applies a data and metrics-driven approach for removing defects and improving business processes.
    • Plan and develop system program requirements to achieve specified outcomes, capabilities, and architectures for data management.
    • Provide expert technical guidance, interpretation, and implementation oversight of applicable cybersecurity policies, processes, and practices to ensure continued operational availability, confidentiality, and integrity of enterprise architecture applications, systems, networks, and data.
    • Develop and implement required training for applicable cloud-based platforms, applications, and systems.
    • Evaluate business and service partner requirements and translate them into outcomes providing the highest standard of customer-focused support.
    • Manage and automate management processes for virtualized servers and applications, virtual networks, and physical hosts.
    • Develop strategies for building a secure and well-managed enterprise environment in Cloud.
    • Work alongside architecture and engineering teams to design and implement any scalable software services.
    • Implement continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines when necessary.
    • Manage a continuous integration and deployment methodology for server-based technologies.
    • Troubleshoot systems and solve potential problems across all platforms and application domains.
    • Assist with building, delivering, and managing Cloud IaaS and hybrid Cloud IaaS environments using multiple platforms.
    • Provide program management and solution support for security transformation/implementation programs.
    • Develop and implement IT initiatives that align with larger organizational and national strategies.
    • Utilize their deep understanding of application, data, and infrastructure architecture technologies to help clients identify security issues and control gaps in a government cloud environment.

    SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 6-10 years experience with multi-threaded, distributive Cloud architectures and frameworks and/or advising senior IT executives on IT programs in the Dept of Defense
    • Demonstrates knowledge of FedRAMP, ATO, and other Federal governance and security standards and requirements
    • Demonstrates abilities and success with identifying and addressing client needs: actively participating in client discussions and meetings; communicating a broad range of firm services; preparing concise, accurate documents.
    • Experience with using Microsoft SharePoint portal sites and providing document management support.
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with demonstrated ability to make difficult concepts easy to understand.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Must be organized, self-motivated, and able to multitask in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to excel both independently and as a team member in a lively, collaborative environment.
    • Possess an acute awareness of organizational cultures and political savvy.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, MS Project, MS Office, and Excel.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience with the DoD, ideally within the Military Health System and/or US Army Medical Command (MEDCOM)
    • Certifications in one or more of the following: CISSP, CCSK, CIPP, Microsoft Mobility MCP Exam 98-368, PMP, or related certification

    EDUCATION: BS or advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Math, Engineering or another related field from an accredited college or university.

    LOCATION: Falls Church, VA. This position requires on-site work for all or a portion of the work to be performed. The successful candidate will reside in the local area or relocate within 15 days of the start date. No relocation is authorized.
