  • Responsibilities

    The Professional Services Solution Architect (SA) is a member of the Kofax Professional Services group. Each customer implementation has one or more Solution Architects as a key member of the project team. The Professional Services SA is responsible for the technical management/planning, integrity of the architecture, detailed solution design, technical development and is ultimately responsible for the delivery of high quality solutions to our customers. The Professional Services SA is also responsible for mentoring consultants on the Kofax suite of products, related technologies and the implementation process.

     

    As a member of the Architecture group, the Professional Services Solution Architect needs to be able to notice trends across customer implementations to then help improve future implementations by driving the creation of best practices, re-usable assets and refinement of the implementation processes.

     

    The Professional Services Solution Architect is also responsible for working across the Kofax organization including, but not limited to, Product Development, Product Marketing and Technical Support. This is to ensure that our products and solutions are being improved based on customer need and feedback as well as being in line with the desired best-practice implementation.

     

    The Professional Services SA  must be able to:

    General

    • Demonstrate proficiency with OCR/ICR and Business Process Management.
    • Be an expert in the suite of Kofax products from a functional and technical standpoint
    • Competence on industry processes and best practices
    • Be a trusted advisor to prospects, customers, and internal to Sales, Presales, PS, and R&D personnel

    Delivery

    • Execute Cognitive Capture and Business Process Management framework and guidelines along with Project Manager

    • Provide architectural leadership for Professional Services engagements

    • Drive technology innovation and implementation best practices

    • Perform code reviews and help to solve "tough problems"

    • Ensure world-class practices are implemented and followed

    Pre-Sales

    • Influence a prospective customer to take the Business Process Management journey with Kofax

    • Estimate implementation effort based on requirements

    • Create solution designs and assess external technologies for their applicability

    Team

    • Mentor PS team on the "best practices" in coding and architecture

    • Lead teams of developers both on and off-shore to deliver quality solutions on-time

    Required Skills

    PROFICIENCY WITH:

    • Extraction and classification with ICR/OCR technologies
    • Delivering Business Process Management software solutions with demonstrable value generation
    • Ability to articulate business issues/concerns with people from a variety of technical, solution, industry, executive, and cultural backgrounds
    • Ability to identify risks and raise for discussion as appropriate both internally and with the customer
    • Ability to effectively drive large complex customers to make important decisions
    • SQL and ability to develop efficient and complex queries.
    • Reading/interpreting HTML and Java Script.
    • At least one major relational database platform (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, MySQL) plus familiarity with at least one other.
    • Navigating both Unix and Windows environments.
    • Various web-development technologies including HTML, CSS Selectors, SOAP and REST web services.

     

    FAMILIARITY WITH:

    • Web application server architecture such as Tomcat or other J2EE platforms, including web services (SOAP and REST), CSS Selector, JSON, networking.
    • Navigating various operating systems and desktop applications.
    • Coding in one or more programming languages (e.g. Java, .NET, C#).
    • ETL tools or data warehouse and business analytics technologies.
    • .NET framework using C#, ASP, ADO, XML, etc.
    • Implementing full life cycle projects for large enterprise clients.

     

    BENEFICIAL:

    • Experience with Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server or other source control and defect tracking tools.
    • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, or similar.

     

    CHARACTER:

    Required Experience

    • 10+ years of Professional Services consulting experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required
    • Master’s degree preferred.
